A graduate of London School of Economics specializing in Political Communication, Shrenik was the former Vice-President of a TV Network in India with several years of experience in broadcasting and content production. He has the credit of interviewing several Heads of States ranging from the Vice-Presidents of Zimbabwe - Ms.Joyce Mujuru and Mr.Joseph Msika to the Twenty First Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mir Zaffarullah Khan Jamali.

Shrenik taught courses on 'Information and Politics', 'International Media Development', 'Information Communication and Society' at Napier University, Edinburgh, UK. He has also given guest lectures at the University of Westminster, UK and the University of Hyderabad, India. Thomas is the co-editor of Another World is Possible: popular alternatives to globalization at the World Social Forum as well as one of the co-authors of Unholy Trinity: the IMF, World Bank and WTO. He is currently finishing another book on the World Social Forum as well as co-editing the volume The Revolution in Venezuela.

Thomas Ponniah's doctoral dissertation focused on globalization, development, social theory and social movements and was completed at the Graduate School of Geography, Clark University in Massachusetts.
